Digital Class Rooms program launch in AP govt. schools

The AP state government is all set to launch Digital Classrooms program in state run schools. The program is scheduled to launch by CM Chandrababu Naidu at AU Convocation Hall. As part pf the program, the government will launch digital classrooms in 5,000 schools across state by November end.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs.100Crore. Of which, 70crores will be borne by AP state government and remaining 30 present will be contributed by TANA. The program will be initiated in 1,280 schools on Thursday alone. Of which 301 schools are from Vizag district alone.

The government is going to incur $750 to provide a digital classroom. The maintenance of the schools will not be a problem as the government is planning to have fibre optic network across state. Two computers, a projector and a server with content of syllabus of sixth to 10th classes in both Telugu and English make up a digital classroom.

“The digital class rooms program is an effort of Chief Minister to make AP an education and knowledge hub and using technology for best results,” said HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao at a press conference.
